[Technology Preview] To Import Item Type Instances from Excel

Select the Import/Export tool (Drawing > Content > Item Types > Import/Export) The Item Type Import/Export dialog opens.
Select the Instance icon.
Select Import.
Select the browse button next to the Import from field. The Import Item Type Libraries dialog opens.
Browse to the desired Excel file and click Open. The Import Item Type Libraries dialog closes.
In the Item Type Import/Export dialog click Import.

The item type instances get imported as excel files. The message "Item Type Instances imported successfully" is displayed in the message center.
